What's going on?

Hello cyberfriends,

If somebody wants to know how I am doing, I should say: "A lot better". I am doing well indeed and would like to share with you my whereabouts and all.
It seems to me that many things have happend since I first got here at the beginning of March of this year.
I moved from Barcelona, Spain to Medellin, Colombia. I have moved twice since and now I am living in the center of the city in an appartment with all the comodities that a normal human being can desire. Mister Pedronel Giraldo Aranque, Director of the SACIAR fondation asked me in March: "why did you come to Colombia"? At the time that was an odd question for me because I was sure to know: aliviate the suffering of little street children.
Three months later, I haven't changed my mind, however it is not as simple as one would first think.
First of all it takes not only money, dedication and the like but also guts and spiritual stamina. I seem to have it all except the first. This is where it hurts every time for whatever ministry or organization. My question is the following: How can one motivate people to help financially a ministry so simple as this one: to help aliviate the suffering of little ones and their families on the streets? They are people like you and me that do not have like you and me have. They need our help.
When I cross the city of Medellin and see the poverty everywhere my heart melts every time and I wonder: "what more can I do?" There are more than enough souls willing to help with their time, their energy, but they don't have what it would take to really take off with this ministry to the poor: money. It is interesting to notice how quick we are to spend our money on ourselves and slow on others; how quick we are to spend our money on superflues things that many times we dont even need (sweets, vacacion souvenirs, even clothes that we do not really need) and slow to give $1 to a needy child on the street. Here in Medellin we have put in place a Foundation with Legal Statutes, Clear Goals and Objectives. We are ready to act!
Are you?
